GULFPORT RISING: A Florida Beach Community Reflects on Hurricanes Helene & Milton Curated by Lynn Taylor

About

Award-winning writer Lynn Taylor invited more than 40 Gulfport residents to filter their storm experiences through artistic lenses. The result is Gulfport Rising: A Florida Beach Community Reflects on Hurricanes Helene & Milton, a compendium that is both historical record and emotional journey. Business owners, politicians, journalists, artists, educators, and citizens looked back to look forward — reflecting on the consequential storm season that tested this resilient beach community.

As curator of Gulfport Rising: A Florida Beach Community Reflects on Hurricanes Helene & Milton, Lynn brought together writers, poets, visual artists, photographers, and other creative Gulfport community members to contribute stories, poems, essays, photos, and art forms that captured Gulfport’s loss, fear, hope, and solace in response to the devastation from the recent hurricanes. She coordinated with The Gabber to get the book published and available for sale to the public.
